Feta al 2008, any en què va guanyar l'oscar al millor vestuari, aquest drama d'època amb la Keyra (un pèl anorèxica) de protagonista ahir a la nit ens va deixar a mig camí. Crec que el persontage femení, en aquell món d'intrigues on la dona era poc més que un "florero", i en aquest cas "florero" alt amb moltes plomes, havia de ser una persona amb més coratge i carisma del què veiem. En el tema passional i la moda perdem energia dramàtica. Les interpretacions són bones, la Keyra ho salva tot, i el probre Ralph Fiennes ja és un especialista d'aquests papers d'atormentat que sempre li donen. L'escenificació sobèrbia, ostentosa, i recarregada, com correponia, no baixa en cap moment el llistó. Però el triangle que conviu sota el mateix sostre Knightley, Fiennes, Atwell, (amb la mateixa actriu dels Pilars de la Terra), apart de ser, probablement el més morbós de la història oficial de l'artistocràcia anglesa, donava molt més joc del què ens van oferir.No puc deixar de veure un antecedent de la Lady Di.
